My friend Phyllis Ponvert was the neatest lady. She was very committed to peace and justice in Central America. In her sixties, she traveled to Guatemala and volunteered on a peace team that involved personal risk and then volunteered at the Casa Materna in Nicaragua, a home for pregnant women at high risk. She loved to garden and had a beautiful one at her home in Ann Arbor. She was also an artist. One afternoon we did art together at her home and I produced this painting. I dedicate this entry to her loving memory. She passed away at the age of eighty in 2018.
