Story behind View from Room 235, Porto Mykonos Hotel, Greece (top left)
In 2019 I signed up for an art workshop on Monhegan Island, Maine. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. The teacher’s husband invited me to participate in a workshop in Greece that September. I called up my French friend Odile to see if she wanted a visit. Sure enough she did, so I signed up for the workshop and made my way to visit Odile in Burgundy for two weeks, took a bus tour of Spain for 10 days, and then went to Mykonos and Santorini for 10 days. My two teachers were wonderful-Linda Richichi from Sarasota, Florida and Jacqueline Baldini from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Check out Linda's website here and Jacq's website here.
When I arrived at the Porto Mykonos Hotel it was 1:00 am in the morning so of course it was pitch black. I opened the door to the patio and saw a group of lovely buildings and then I went to sleep. When I awoke, I opened the patio doors again to take in the fresh morning air and, lo and behold, beyond the group of buildings was a gorgeous view of the sparkling blue ocean dotted with lovely islands. I had to draw it.
