English translation: I long to release myself from my illusions of my own unfulfilled expectations. I long to release myself from my intense anger, jealousy, bitterness and attitude of victimization. Perhaps by doing so, I Will fly into my own affectionate arms of self-acceptance and discover new avenues of joy.
I originally wrote the poem in Spanish: Auto-aceptación Deseo liberarme a mí misma de mis ilusiones, de mis propias expectativas no cumplidas. Deseo liberarme a mí misma de mi intensa rabia, celos, amargura y actitud de victimización. Quizás al hacerlo, volaré en mis propios brazos cariñosos de autoaceptación y descubriré nuevas avenidas de alegría.
“You’re off to great places, Today is your day,
Your mountain is waiting,
So get on your way."
The quote is the central theme of the children's book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, by beloved author, Dr. Seuss. It was published on January 22, 1990 and was his last book to be published during his lifetime.
