Over July 4th weekend in 2019, I went to visit my cousin David in Portland, Maine. We went to the Portland Art Museum and saw an exhibit on one of Maine’s art schools called Haystack. That reminded me that I always wanted to take an art workshop in Maine. I called Haystack a few days later but they were not offering any classes of interest to me. I remembered I had visited Monhegan Island many years before and learned that it was an artist community. I went online and found an art workshop on Monhegan to take place in just a few weeks. I signed up for it sight unseen. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. My teacher was the plein air artist, Jaqueline Baldini of Niagara Falls, Canada. Check out Jacq's website. Her workshops are called Plein Air Painting Art Workshops. When Covid free, they take place in Niagara Falls, USA; St. Lucia, West Indies; Sarasota, Florida; San Diego; South and North Carolina; the Greek Isles; as well as Monhegan Island, Maine.
